Supporting the wellbeing of you and your family

I have trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques including the Webster technique. This is a precise technique for pregnant women that evaluates and adjusts their pelvis in a specific manner to reduce nerve interference and to assist in allowing the baby to get into the best possible position for birth.

I also carry out myofascial release techniques on a pregnant woman’s abdomen and pelvis. The ligaments and soft tissues that support a developing baby are rapidly stretched during pregnancy and can become out of balance, putting extra strain on the pelvis and low back. These techniques involve an assessment of the balance of the pelvis and abdomen and finger-tip pressure to the baby bump to release restrictions and restore balance to the ligaments supporting the uterus.

Postnatally I can assess women for diastasis recti (a separation of the abdominal muscles which is very common after pregnancy) and also determine the strength and function of the pelvic floor and advise on an appropriate rehabilitation programme to restore control in that vital group of muscles.
